History
Yooper was an elderly resident of the town of Voici in the Northwest Territories, Canada. A frequent customer of Nan's diner, he was acquainted with Clem and the various other residents of the town and surrounding area.

Without the symbiote
When Clem arrived at Nan's diner behaving strangely, claiming to be under the control of a carnivorous symbiotic alien that was going to eat everyone's brains, Yooper assumed he was making a morbid joke -- failing to notice the symbiote, a clone of the Venom symbiote -- engulf Clem and transform him into a monster.[1] The symbiote's rampage destroyed the diner, with it transferring to Nan when Clem expired, but was interrupted by the arrival of the mutant superhero Logan, and Vic and Frankie -- twin clone agents of the Ararat Corporation.
While the battle took place, Yooper emerged from the wreckage of the diner and attempted to flee, but was shot at by Vic and Frankie to eliminate him as a potential alternative host. The symbiote latched onto the bullet and bonded to Yooper, claiming him as its host until Vic and Frankie dropped a nuclear bomb on Voici.[2]
