A member of the otherdimensional team of bounty hunters known as the Technet, Yap is a small, sentient, lizard-like creature who invariably accompanies the team's leader, Technet. Yap exhibits an intense emotional dependency on Gatecrasher, and refers to her as 'Mother,' much to Gatecrasher's annoyance, who calls Yap 'Bonebag' in return. Yap is intensely loyal to Gatecrasher, however, not leaving her even when most of the other members of the team have deserted her. Yap's teleportation and tracking abilities make him an invaluable member of the team, despite his lack of ability in combat situations.

Yap accompanied Gatecrasher and the rest of the Technet to Earth first to hunt down the otherdimensional counterpart of Captain Britain known as Kaptain Briton, and later to capture the mutant Rachel Summers, then known as Phoenix. Both assignments were undertaken on behalf of Saturnyne. After they failed in the second assignment, the team based themselves on a disused pier in Brighton, England.

Earth-92131

Yap was among the Technet team who briefly visited Earth-92131.[1]

Powers

Yap has the power to teleport himself and others over great distances. The limits of his power are unknown, but he has frequently proved capable of teleporting the whole of the Technet and their bounties with him across vast distances.

Yap can detect the psychic auras of individuals, as well as the electron patterns created by such items as Captain Britain's battlesuit. By this means, Yap can track specific individuals.

Yap also has certain telepathic abilities, the limits of which are unknown.

Weaknesses

Yap is highly dependent on the Technet's leader Gatecrasher (Technet), and apparently has negligible ability in combat, as he possesses little physical strength and a rather cowardly disposition.
