Synopsis for "The Cure (Part 1): Miracles and Wonders"

In Hollywood, X-Statix got off of a limo and Myles held hands with his boyfriend Brandon Cody of Teen Bump before changing into his werewolf-like form. Dr. Alex Finlay held a serum that could remove mutant powers in his hand, as he watched X-Statix's arrival on television before he told Professor X that he would be resigning from his position.

Later, Finlay visited Myles at the X-Statix Building and offered him the serum in exchange for rights to his story on TV and all other media. On Lacuna and the Stars, she was rushed in front of her audience on a stretcher and life support before a man pulled out tubes that kept her alive. As X-Statix watched her show, Venus teleported them in front of her in an attempt to stop him, only for her to wake up, leading others to believe that her recovery was a miracle.

Myles was about to be experimented on in Finlay's lab before his teammates appeared and attempted to convince him not to take the serum. Tike hit Myles and grabbed him before sweating acid on his face, nearly blinding him and causing him to turn into Vivisector. Then, he scratched Tike's face and Guy's stomach, causing the latter to go into an ultra-sensitive spasm. Later, Myles went to a restaurant with Brandon and told him that he would surprise him. Afterwards, Finlay injected Myles with his serum before he appeared on Lacuna and the Stars, where the scientist tested the effects of his serum by burning the hero's books in front of him, much to his anger. X-Statix and Brandon, who were watching the show, were disappointed, while his father, who was also watching, still disowned him.

Afterwards, Myles and Brandon broke up after an argument. His teammates also kicked him out of the team and also out of their building due to the removal of his powers. Then, they left him behind to go on a mission to Newfoundland to confront mutated loggers on a rampage. Dr. Finlay, who was watching X-Statix fight the loggers in Newfoundland on television, told his significant other Polly that he planned to take Myles' DNA and join the team.

Solicit Synopsis

"The Cure," pt. 1 (of 2).

One of Professor X's assistants just might have discovered the cure for Myles Alfred -- a.k.a. Vivisector's condition. No, not that condition ... the other one.

Trivia

In this issue, Professor X appears in a wheelchair, so these events must take place after New X-Men #150, where he was put back into it by Xorn/Magneto.
