Synopsis for "Shattered Dreams"Edit

Holocaust sends Wolverine after the X-Men. Weapon X and Jean Grey leave the team.

Rogue is in a love triangle between Gambit and Magneto. Magneto reveals he can use his magnetic powers to bypass Rogue's absorption.

During the battle with Wolverine, Rogue agrees to let herself die for Magneto, but Gambit is able to kill the assassin. Angry at her choosing Magneto over him, Gambit leaves the group.

  • X-Men Chronicles was the renamed title for the X-Men Unlimited series during the Age of Apocalypse storyline. The title, like X-Men Unlimited, was printed bi-monthly, and only two issues were published before the title changed back to X-Men Unlimited.
  • These events are a prequel to the actual Age of Apocalypse crossover. The Earth-295 reality took the place of the mainstream Marvel Universe reality in X-Men Vol 2 #41.
  • Chronologically, the next story in the Age of the Apocalypse time-line is X-Man #-1.
  • Issue includes bonus pinups showing 'The Age of Apocalypse's Historical Moments':

  • This issue is reprinted in other comics and books, see references for more info.[2]
