Little is detailed about the Wrecking Crew's life before the zombie plague arrived on Earth-2149, however it can be presumed to have followed much the same path as their Earth-616 counterparts.
After Wrecker, Bulldozer and Piledriver became infected, they ganged up on Thunderball and infected him as well. Still hungry, they attacked the Punisher along with several other zombies, and infected him.[1]
