History

The publisher of the Daily Bugle during the 1930s and ‘40s, William Goodman was a belligerent boss to his staff. Ironically, one of his reporters, a young J. Jonah Jameson, swore to show more faith and be more even-handed with his own employees someday.[1]

Notes

Trivia

  • Due to Marvel Comics' sliding timescale, the wartime publisher of the Bugle was retconned as Simon J. Goodman, possibly William's father, who similarly employed JJJ's father alongside Phil Sheldon.
