When Dr. Hank Pym first discovered his size-reducing serum, he became trapped in an anthill and was pursued by the ants within. He escaped with the help of a friendly ant and restored himself to his normal size. The incident triggered an interest in ants in Pym, and he theorized that ants communicate through psionic/pheromonal/electrical waves transmitted through their antennae. After months of work, Pym succeeded in creating his first "cybernetic helmet", which would enable him to communicate with ants through transmitting and receiving psionic/pheromonal/electrical waves. Through this helmet, he managed to control a number of ants who would help him in his adventures as Ant-Man.
Foss was Korr's brother.
Korr was a winged ant who Ant-Man used to travel around the city on, and Korr gave up his life to protect him and the Wasp from a menacing garden snake. Henry Pym was visibly disturbed by Korr's passing and Korr's willingness to lay down his life for him. Later Pym used Korr's sentience as a base program for the Rover.

Formerly known simply as #247, the winged carpenter ant "Antony" was named by Scott Lang. Antony acted as the main mounted-stead for Lang during his training and the infiltration of the Cross Technological Enterprises Facility. Unfortunately, Antony was killed by a bullet from Darren Cross' gun.
