Synopsis for "What If... The All-New All-Different X-Men Had Never Existed?"
After the X-Men arrived in Krakoa, Jean used her powers to allow Polaris to access her own and hurl Krakoa into outer space, allowing them to never be captured and leaving no reason to recruit a new team. Afterwards, they fought Count Nefaria and his Ani-Men and Eric the Red, who was accompanied by Nightcrawler and Proudstar, before meeting Moira MacTaggert on Muir Island, where they also fought Sentinels. Later, at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the team met Lilandra Neramani, who told them about her brother Emperor D'ken Neramani, who sent Eric the Red after her, and that he had to be stopped before the alignment of the nine Death-Stars.
On the "World", the X-Men met the Starjammers and stopped the M'kraan Crystal from shattering. Afterwards, the X-Men fought Warhawk and Mesmero, fought Moses Magnum, with the help of Sunfire and Alpha Flight (which included Wolverine), and Jean had a vision of Mastermind. Since Magneto had been de-aged to a child, the X-Men were never abducted to the Savage Land and separated. Later, the team fought Arkon in Africa and saved Kitty Pryde in Chicago and Dazzler in Manhattan before finally meeting Mastermind and the Hellfire Club. Lilandra, who became empress, summoned them and told them about the Phoenix Force and how it resided in the Sun. Although Cyclops volunteered to sacrifice himself to become the Phoenix Force's host, Nightcrawler struck him and decided to sacrifice himself, instead. Afterwards, Professor X declared that their fight against the Hellfire Club and others had to continue.
