History

Wanda Lane lived on Earth-5106 a world where rocket technology and space travel flourished in the 1950s. In the year 1960 she was wooded by the young and brash rocket cadet Bennett "Blast" Revere. She did not reciprocate his romantic inclinations until he staged a rocket crash and feigned being injured. However, his career as a rocket pilot put a toll on their relationship as Wanda began feeling stress over the dangers his job posed. Eventually she told him to choose either his career or his relationship with her. Unable to give up either, Bennett instead took Wanda on a rocket flight to show her the splendor of the universe. Wanda eventually acquiesced, although she continued to worry over the danger Bennett faced every time he blasted off into space[1].

Eventually, Wanda and Bennett were married and had two children: Edgar and Dawn. Eventually the stress toll on her husband's career eventually effected Wanda's health and she died of an apparent broken heart. Wanda's death continues to haunt Bennett, who in the year 2000 refused to consent his daughter to marry Space Squadron field leader Jet Dixon out of fear that Dawn would suffer the same hardships as her mother[2].
