History
Walter "Old Man" Jameson was the editor of the Daily Bugle during World War II. Once, Jameson almost succeeded in snapping a picture of the unmasked Captain America, although he was ultimately unsuccessful in discovering Captain America's then-secret identity. Later, he sent correspondent C. Thomas Sites on a story covering Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos, and worked alongside other reporters such as Scoop Daly. The most notable event of his career was when he worked as publisher at the time the Daily Bugle exposed the disappearance of the original Captain America. However, the government continued to deny it.
Notes
- The character was originally assumed to be a younger J. Jonah Jameson, until he was retconned by Alan Moore in Marvel Super-Heroes (UK) #394 as being his father. This was further retconned in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Spider-Man 2005 #1 in 2005, where the patriarchal connection was erased.[1]
