Walter "Old Man" Jameson was the editor of the Daily Bugle during World War II. Once, Jameson almost succeeded in snapping a picture of the unmasked Captain America, although he was ultimately unsuccessful in discovering Captain America's then-secret identity. Later, he sent correspondent C. Thomas Sites on a story covering Nick Fury and His Howling Commandos, and worked alongside other reporters such as Scoop Daly. The most notable event of his career was when he worked as publisher at the time the Daily Bugle exposed the disappearance of the original Captain America. However, the government continued to deny it.

  • Given the fact that he was also an editor of the Daily Bugle, and because of certain physical and behavioral similarities, it has been presumed by some that Walter Jameson was the father of J. Jonah Jameson. However, the appearance of J. Jonah Jameson, Sr., put an end to this hypothesis. Regardless, it is still possible (and somewhat likely) that Walter Jameson was a relative to those two in some other way.
