History
Volstagg meets with Thor at the Terrace in the Sky restaurant in Morningside Heights. He is there to warn Thor of Loki's plot against him, which involves shifting reality. Thor explains who Volstagg is to a waiter, only to look back to see that Volstagg has disappeared and the waiter informs him that he has been speaking to himself the whole time. This is done by Loki, who set up the incident to make the Ultimates disbelieve Thor's claims to be a God, making him appear to be a rambling madman. It is unknown if Loki simply warped the minds of all inside the restaurant or if he wiped Volstagg from reality altogether.[1]
Volstagg later appears in a flashback during Asgard's glory days, fighting off the Frost Giant incursion on Asgard coordinated by Loki.[2]
Volstagg was resurrected along with the other Asgardians.[3] When the Children of Tomorrow invaded Asgard, Volstagg was killed as well as the rest of the Asgardian Gods, except Thor.[4] His ghost can be seen, as well as the rests of the Asgardians, only by Thor.[5]Attributes

Trivia
- Breaking tradition of the permanent deaths of the Ultimate universe, Volstagg and the other Asgardians are still technically active even after death, albeit as ghosts.
