Gotham has been a bit of a dark horse, in the midst of many other great new shows this fall. How could you make a show about Gotham without Batman? While the tone is very different from Smallville, the concept is the same: Tell the story of Batman's origin and the rest of the Bat-family, including the true protagonist of this tale, Jim Gordon. Gotham provides a rich backdrop for any number of cop-drama stories. One thing is for certain, they've got all the tools they need to make a great show. Can they do it? Will it last?
