Synopsis for "Everything Is Sinister!" (Part 1)Edit
Two tourists stand at the feet of the Dreaming Celestial. A man reads some things from a pamphlet about San Francisco in the company of a woman. Suddenly, Mr. Sinister appears and kills the woman. The man begs for his life, but Sinister kills him anyway, saying that he is only human. He then disappears through a portal.
During the next day at Utopia, Scott and Emma attend to a meeting with Magneto, Danger, Colossus, Magik, Storm and Namor. As they take seats, Danger informs Colossus that Doctor Nemesis reinforced his chair in case his other self should make an appearance. Scott says that despite the schism with the Westchester school, their overall situation has not changed and mutant prejudice is still a major issue. Scott has chosen them to be his "Extinction Team" so that they can prove that mutants are necessary for humanity's survival. Storm expresses skepticism at the idea, but Scott replies that the team must do their best to remain the good guys.
During week one, the diverse X-Teams continue their usual activities.
In week two, Scott and Emma receive an emergency call from Abigail Brand and go to the Peak. Brand tells them that the Dreaming Celestial's energy signature has radically changed and the X-Men have to investigate. She also says that she was going to contact the Avengers next, but Cyclops tells her not to, stating that they are not prepared for that kind of emergencies.
Extinction Team is teleported by Magik to the Dreaming Celestial, and suddenly, the Celestial's head separates from its body, taking the form of Sinister's head. Emma telepathically connects Scott's mind to that of Sinister. Scott asks Sinister what he wants, and Sinister replies that he wants the same as Scott. Then, the Celestial head releases an energy blast from its diamond at Emma, however, Emma changes into her diamond form to protect herself.
Then, Emma calls Namor for help, and Namor swiftly brings the head down. Suddenly, a swarm of battle-bots appears and attacks the X-Men. One robot blasts Colossus to another part of the city, while another blows Emma's arm off. Cyclops tells Hope to mimic Emma's telepathy to communicate a message. Cyclops instructs Magik to help Colossus and the reserves to contain the robots.
Magik reaches Colossus, who transforms into the Juggernaut. Colossus uses one of Magik's portals to return to the battle.
Doctor Nemesis tells the X-Men that the Celestial is dividing itself in micro-Celestials because it lacks an electro-magnetic structure. Magneto uses his powers to stabilize the Celestial and maintain its natural state. Danger locates the Celestial's head in the Palace of Fine Arts.
There, Sinister has used the head to transform everyone in the city into duplicates of himself.
- Also includes a "Letter to Humanity", describing the purpose of the Extinction Team and a staff chart, breaking down the roles of the Utopia mutants. Along with those listed above, it reveals Jubilee and Warpath belong to the Security Recon team, Boom Boom and Lifeguard belong to the Street Team, Cypher, Warlock, and X-Man still belong to the New Mutants/Clean-Up team, and Crosta and Martha Johansson are counted among the Recruits.
- Also includes a preview of things to come in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol 2.

Great first issue. I especially like the dialog page in the back that explain all the teams, even if it wasn't part of the read!
Mr. Sinister is my favorite villain, but the everything Sinsiter part seemed a tad off to me. I prefer him with his Marauders. But still, he didn't disappoint. Whenever he's shown there's something big going on, and you can bet he's behind it. Sure enough here with the Celestial.
Colossus tapped into the Juggernaut power which is interesting, as he didn't in X-Men Vol 3 #20. But his little demonic sister was there to help him out. This issue mainly focuses on the "Extinction Team" and there battle against Sinister and the Celestial, but you do see some background characters. Sunspot (what I can only assume is him) looks a bit like Cannonball though.
Not a whole lot to really say, but it was a good book. A starter, but still plenty of action. Funny quote from Storm, and she makes a good point. Colossus, Magik, Magneto, Namor, Emma, Danger, and Cyclops have all been considered villains before. Storm and Hope are the only two to have never been, and yet that's the main team of X-Men. But who cares? They'll flow good together.
There of course can be the entire Cyclops/Emma/Namor thing, Colossus and Magik are related, Danger and Emma get along well, Magneto and Colossus have some past, Hope can pretty much tie in with any of them. It all fits to me, and I like it. On Wolverine's side, you have Beast with him, and that doesn't seem right to me, among other items..
A dialog picture in the back of the book further explains the different X-Men teams on Utopia. There's the X-Club team: Nemesis, Kavita, Jeffires, Danger; the "Security Recon" team of X-Men: Psylocke, Domino, Warpath, Jubilee; the "Street Team" of X-Men: Dazzler, Boom Boom, Lifeguard (whoa! they plan on showing her!!); the "Clean-Up" team (New Mutants): Dani Moonstar, Cypher, Warlock, Magma, Sunspot, X-Man; the "Generation Hope" team (Lights): Primal, Hope, Zero, Velocidad, Transonic, Pixie (don't really get why she gets to be a part of this tema and the other younger ones can't. guess she's just more popular); and the "Recruits": Prodigy, Cuckoos, Dust, Loa, Surge, Crosta, Martha. I'm a bit confused there though. I thought Dust, Crosta, Martha, and Loa were all with Wolverine...
I rather enjoyed this much so, especially for a first book-I'll go ahead and give it a 5 out of 5. My favorite "students" are basically Surge, Dust, Pixie, and Hellion, and Cyclops' team has three out of four. Not bad. Anyways, if you're a fan of X-Men and can't deicde which book to pick up-pick this one.--Johnnybravo44 (talk) 23:44, November 2, 2011 (UTC)
