Synopsis for "Death of a Goblin: Part 1"
While web-slinging during his lunch break, Spider-Man follows a high-speed pursuit of Shocker. While Spider-Man saves the bystanders from a wrecking cop car, Kitty Pryde (in a new costume) phases through Shocker's vehicle, shortening out the car's electronic equipment.
Back at Midtown High, Mary Jane has a nightmare of her demonic self. Peter and Kitty arrive fifteen minutes late to class to the amusement of the other students. The teacher splits the class into pairs, giving each pair a baby to take care of. The teacher places Peter and Kitty into a group at the dismay of MJ. Peter assures MJ that it is not a big deal that Kitty and he are placed in a group together before they are both picked on by Flash for sharing a half-mutant child. To the groups surprise, Kong steps up and defends Kitty, giving them both the chance to get to know each other.
Elsewhere, Carol Danvers is it handling the day to day for S.H.I.E.l.D while Nick Fury is off doing other business. During this time Norman Osborn is ready to make a deal for his freedom, a deal Danvers is not willing to make. While resuming her work in the control room, the security system installed around Osborn starts to shut down before an explosion occurs.
