History

Titus Locke was a resident of Freetown during the 1940s. He was the owner of the Freetown News, as well as its biggest employer and principal industry: the Tool Works. By the summer of 1942, he was deeply involved in war profiteering and labor crushing. This information came to pass the hands of Ella Wright who attempted to tip off newspaper reporter Jerry Dash of the rival paper the Star. To avoid this from getting out to the public, Titus had Ella murdered and framed Jerry for the killing.

This prompted Jerry's friend Roddy Colt to learn the truth in his secret identity of the Secret Stamp. When the Secret Stamp managed to find proof that Jerry was not in town when the murder happened, Locke attempted to rally a lynch mob to hang Jerry instead. However, the Secret Stamp convinced the mob to let the law handle Jerry through a fair trial. When Titus attempted to get the mob going again, the Stamp accused him of the murder of Ella Wright and tackled him.

Later, in a court of law, Jerry brought the full story to light with enough evidence to prove that Locke was responsible for Ella's murder. Locke's sentence and ultimate fate is unrecorded.[1]
