Synopsis for the 1st StoryEdit
Luke Cage and Doctor Strange enlist the help of Daimon Hellstrom to locate his sister, Satana. Unfortunately, their locating spell alerts her to their attempts and has erected magical shields that Strange no longer has the power to pierce. Therefore, they use Man-Thing to track Satana's location to the Vally of Shandor-Rah, in Nepal. They come across the magical defenses Satan had in place, such as ice monsters or animated rock, which Cage defends with mere strength, opposed to Strange's magical solutions. Once they find Satana, she attempts to use alluring magical mists to twists their emotions. It appears that Strange is subdued by the mists, not Cage, before an amulet is placed around the former's neck, which Satana describes as binding spell made solid, enabling her to command him. However, Cage, revealed to be the real Strange in disguise, and vice versa, gets close enough to slap his own binding spell on her, fit with the Thunderbolts insignia on it, to ensure that she's binded to the team. Satana asks how they were able to infiltrate her sanctum, Strange reveals Man-Thing. Surprised, Satana admits that if she had known that the creature was on the Thunderbolts, she would've turned herself in.
Meanwhile, at the Raft, a new Thunderbolt team is drafted in case the primary team dies on a mission, with Songbird selected as leader. Therefore, she and John Walker go around the Raft and select potential recruits.
- No special notes.
Before he was pressed into service for the Thunderbolts, the mysterious swamp monster of the team knew another life: as guardian for a force of nature called The Nexus of Realities. An old friend of the creature does remember this--and breaks the silent one out of The Raft to return to duty at the borders of our world. What danger awaits the Man-Thing--and what will The Thunderbolts say to losing their favorite plant? The team is back in action after word has come down on high about a weakness in Thunderbolt’s, and they must bolster their ranks to deal with the imminent magical threats. Luke Cage calls on New Avenger DOCTOR STRANGE to help find the perfect candidate to fill the role, but bringing this person in is far from easy--which is why SATANA will make a fine Thunderbolt. Back at The Raft, the status quo is changing to an even greater extent without Luke's knowledge. Get ready for new levels of lightning-like justice!
- This Comic Book was referenced in Marvel: Avengers Alliance and is one of the Comic Book Covers required in order to recruit Satana in the game.
