Thomas Rizzo is a police scientist that graduated at the top of his class at the academy. After the death of his brother Daniel in the line of duty, Thomas dedicated himself to creating a robotic police officer, so that no further lives would be put in jeopardy. When his brother was killed, Internal Affairs suspected a dirty cop, and Daniel's partner at the time was the top suspect - Julius Anthony Rassitano aka "Mad Dog". Mad Dog was eventually cleared of all charges, but Thomas secretly held an unknowing hatred for him and other cops. When he created Officer ZERO, he linked it's learning circuits through a patch into his own cerebral cortex. This had the unfortunate side-effects of feeding his hatred of cops into the robot officer, who then proceeded to run wild. The only way to stop it, was to take his own life.[1]
