Races and Species:
Synopsis for "iMprint"
Jace Turner and the Purifiers come up with a plan to draw out mutants in hiding, starting by bombing a church in Baltimore that has been acting as a sanctuary for mutants from the Sentinel Services. When news of this attack reaches the Underground, a group heads to their Baltimore Station to help them process mutants fleeing that violence. Caitlin and Lauren stay behind and schedule a meeting with Dr. Melinda Taylor, the psychiatrist who handled Rebecca while she was at Linwood. They pretend to be Rebecca's distant family members, but Dr. Taylor quickly sees through their guise. Lauren takes a more direct approach, and destroys Dr. Taylor's phone just as she was about to call security. Caitlin convinces her to help them, showing them footage of Rebecca brutally killing a member of the hospital's staff with her mutant powers. The doctor says she knew they couldn't be Rebecca's family because she killed them all in the same way.
Meanwhile, the Inner Circle prepares for their next attack. Lorna, Andy and Rebecca go through a simulation where they have to fight off heavily-armed soldiers. Lorna, bothered by the extreme places this test went, demands Reeva Payge reveal what this next job is about. Reeva initially refuses, but eventually relents and has the Frost sisters handle Lorna's cooperation. Esme takes Lorna into the city to show her their next target is Creed Financial, a corporation behind some of the most severe anti-mutant practices of the past century. She also reveals Creed Financial created her and her sisters (in reality clones) to be weapons until they violently escaped when they were only 13-years-old. Although Lorna appears to be on-board with this plan, when they return to headquarters she hears Esme humming the lullaby she sings to her daughter - a lullaby only she would know. Realizing the Frost sisters must have been in her baby's head, Lorna attacks Esme, and is only stopped by Reeva disrupting her powers with her voice. Reeva wants the Frosts to psychically control Lorna to make her follow Reeva's orders, but Esme makes one last attempt to win her over personally. Privately, she reveals to Lorna that she was originally one of five sisters. Her other two sisters - Cindy and Mindee - were killed when the Esme, Phobe, and Sophie escaped from Creed.
Reed, Johnny, Marcos and Clarice at the Underground's Baltimore Station, currently being led by Shatter and the other mutants that fled Atlanta with them. Reed gets his tools ready to make fake ID's for the mutants hiding at the station, but Johnny is concerned that Reed still doesn't have control over his nascent mutant powers. Shatter overhears them, and later warns Reed about rejecting the scariest part of his powers before he makes them worse, pointing the bullet wound on his head from when he attempted to commit suicide after his own mutation manifested. The Underground realizes they've fallen into a trap when they realize none of the refugees from the church bombing are injured. Purifiers led by Jace Turner surround the Baltimore Station and demand the mutants inside surrender. Just as Clarice is about to open a portal to safety, Turner fires a gas grenade into the building, causing the mutants to scatter and Clarice to lose consciousness. While Reed tries to use his powers to open an escape route through a wall, Shatter distracts the Purifiers outside as his body is able to withstand small arms fire. Shatter manages to kill one of the Purifiers, but Turner grabs another Purifier's assault rifle and shoots Shatter, killing him. Reed's powers activate in time create an escape route for the rest of the mutants to get to safety.
While Jace is disappointed with how the operation turned out, the Purifier Shatter killed is being hailed as a hero on the news. Furthermore, Shatter was supposed to have died in Atlanta, proving Turner's suspicions about the Underground escaping to the Washington area. Meanwhile, Caitlin and Lauren return to the apartment to find Reed in a paranoid state. He's destroyed their bedroom, and is unable to turn off his mutant powers.
- No special notes.
- The scientist who tortured the young Frost sisters while they were at the Creed foundation is named "Dr. John." In Earth-616, John Sublime created the Stepford Cuckoos.
