X-Treme X-Men Merge[]
I propose that this article should be merged with X-Treme Sanctions Executive (Earth-616). The content of the X-Treme X-Men page should be incorporated to this one. These two pages reference the same team. The naming difference between them is more an editorial issue than an in-universe one. Arguments in favor of the merge are:
- X-Treme Sanctions Executive is merely Storm's already established team of "X-Treme X-Men" being given sanction by the United Nations as Global Marshalls. They're the same group. The transition was approved in X-Treme X-Men #35. Essentially, the team evolved to be X.S.E., it was not even a change of name, but merely the addition of a new alias for them. Before X-Treme X-Men #35, the team was called only the X-Men. Still, after X-Treme X-Men #35 and also after Uncanny X-Men #444, this team was called both X.S.E. AND X-Men;
- X-Treme X-Men has always been only an editorial title for the group. The team has never be referred to by this name in universe, only in handbooks and recap pages. The name "X-Treme X-Men" is inaccurate for the catalogue purposes of the wiki;
- The limits between the two eras of the team are very fuzzy. The transition started with issue #35 of the X-Treme X-Men series, but it wasn't fully consolidated until issue #46. X.S.E. made its most recognizable debut in Uncanny X-Men #444 X-Treme X-Men (Vol. 3) makes matters worse. It is set in between X-Treme #46 and Uncanny #444. The retcon series "sold" them as the X-Treme X-Men, but in fact it would about the X.S.E., which suggests "X-Treme X-Men" to be an editorial name only. Quoting the recap page of X-Treme X-Men (Vol. 3) #2: "Originally, these mutant super heroes were known as X-Treme X-Men. Now -- in hopes of building a better world for its children -- they've become global Marshals, responsible for policing the boundaries between humanity and their mutant kinsfolk.".
