Secret Wars: Official Guide to the Marvel Multiverse #1 retcons the events on Earth-2301 to Earth-7122, despite the fact that this issue clearly says otherwise; however, this event also repeatedly used "Earth-610" instead of Earth-1610, so I guess there's precedent for listing what the handbooks say and not the actual comics. - Both Dan Slott and Nick Lowe (the editor) stated that the "Earth-610" was an accidental typo when asked about it. Also, I remember reading that, in response to people inquiring/complaining about Dan Slott's statement that the databooks aren't canon and that he could retcon any universe designation not previously mentioned in a comic, one of the editors clarified that while the databooks are canon, what's in the comics takes precedent. I don't remember exactly where I read that, though.
- Given that the end of the Mangaverse segment of this issue shows Ninja Spider-Man being recruited by a dozen odd Spiders, but Amazing Spider-Man Vol 3 12 says he was recruited by only Spider-Man (Earth-616), Spider-Girl (Earth-616), and Spider-Woman (Earth-65) - and depending on the order in which they were recruited possibly Sho Amano (Earth-7041) and Takuya Yamashiro (Earth-51778) as well. So unless the events of this comic are retconned wholesale, then that implies that both versions of Mangaverse Spider-Man were recruited, but only the one from Earth-7122 appears in the main series.
- I've been told this wiki exists as an online compendium of the databooks, not the comics, and therefore that those take precedent over the word of the writers and the content of the actual comics, so... I dunno. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to e-mail Marvel's question hotline and hope you get picked for the letters to the editor segment, or ask one of them on Twitter for clarification, something like "New databook says the Mangaverse in the first Spider-Verse event is Earth-7122 but the comics say it was Earth-2301.
