In this issue, Captain America's shield is described as being made of "steel." It is later revealed in Captain America Vol 1 255 to be composed of an indestructible alloy of Adamantium and Vibranium.
I don't think Captain America #255 reveals anything of the sort. And if it does say that, it's just as wrong as "steel." Cap's shield predates adamantium by many years. Adamantium was created in Avengers #67, as part of a failed experiment to recreate the material of Captain America's shield. Let's don't be a party to propagating this comic book urban legend.
