Dr. Erwin was an eminent mathematician, who brought fame to the Miskatonic University, Vermont, with his theories and research on parallel time. During the Halloween celebration, the Masters of Evil attempted to capture him hostage, but he was eventually rescued and taken into custody by the Lady Liberators. The female supergroup was actually led by the Enchantress, who was seeking to seize Erwin's parallel-time projector in order to return to Asgard, but she was ultimately defeated by the Scarlet Witch.[1]
