Synopsis for "Amends"

Coming upon Stilt-Man committed a robbery, Spider-Man swoops in to apprehend him when Big Wheel suddenly arrives to help fight him. But Stilt-Man knocks over Big Wheel, distracting Spider-Man and enabling him to escape. Spider-Man asks what he is doing, and Big Wheel says he has joined Villains Anonymous and is trying to make amends for his criminal past by helping Spider-Man fight crime.

Fearing it would cause psychological damage to reject him, Spider-Man allows him to go patrolling with him, and after nabbing a couple small-time crooks, they come upon the Shocker, who proves much more dangerous and causes Big Wheel to lose control of his machine. Spider-Man is able to drop Big Wheel on top of Shocker, effectively stopping them both.

Big Wheel is once again despondent after this new failure, but Spider-Man, seeing how much some passersby enjoyed the damage Big Wheel caused by crushing cars, has the idea of entering Big Wheel in a monster truck show at Madison Square Garden. This gives Jackson Weele a renewed sense of purpose and later he speaks with other criminals about reforming. Although Stilt Man and Shocker mock him, the Hypno-Hustler is inspired to follow in his footsteps. Later, seeing Hypno-Hustler back in costume trying to help fight crime, Spider-Man facepalms.
