A man hates his hometown and thinks he can sell a chemist's creation of manna to make money and leave, but ignoring the chemist's warning, he eats the manna which can taste like any food he thinks of. He leaves the chemist but when he is hungry later he discovers the manna cannot be stored. He tries to eat food from a diner, but feels ill. He returns to the chemist who tells him the manna can only be produced locally and the man will have to remain in his hometown from now on.

An untidy man finds a genie in a bottle which can only grant one wish per year. He's in love with a woman who finds him shiftless, so he wishes for her love. The genie grants the wish and tells him he can have another in one year's time. The woman loves him, but before she will marry him, she demands one year in order to see if he will change his ways. He thinks that in one year's time he can ask for enough money to never work again so he gets a job and cleans himself up. Towards the end of the year he comes home to find out that his intended bride has tossed out the genie bottle.

Synopsis for "The Last Seconds of Ken Stewart"Edit

A business owner makes a mistake when putting money away so he accuses a partner of stealing it. The man panics and falls out an 18th story window while attempting to elude the police. On his way to the street he travels one day backward in time. He sees the business owner accidentally placing the money in the filing cabinet instead of the safe, so he types out this message on the secretary's typewriter. He returns to the present and drops into the firemen's net. The business owner has gotten the message and informed the police that he's made a mistake.
