Synopsis for "Parable Part 2"

Brief Summary:
In an attempt to stop the destruction of the city by Galactus' blasts, the Silver Surfer flees the area to hide. However, Galactus finds his herald and brings him to back in order for their fight to continue. Elyna attempts to plead directly to Galactus, but looses control of her helicopter as she approaches the battle. The Surfer tries to save her, but it hit by Galactus and crashes, along with Elyna, to the ground. With the world witnessing Galactus' brutality, the people of Earth turn on him. Realizing that they don't worship him any longer, he ends the battle and leaves the planet.

Detailed Summary:
Buildings continue to crumble and fall as Galactus lashes out at the Silver Surfer. Realizing the amount of destruction that is happening around him, the Surfer decides to flee the area. Galactus sends his space ship to scour the planet for his herald, while the people of the Earth continue down the path of anarchy.

Elyna sees the error in following Galactus, but no one wants to listen to her. She decides to steal a helicopter a confront Galactus herself. However, in the process of fleeing in the helicopter, one of Colton's men shoots her and fatally wounds her.

Galactus finds his herald and brings the Silver Surfer back to him. The Surfer directly attacks his former master, enraging him further. Meanwhile, Elyna reaches the battle, but looses control of the helicopter as she blacks out from her injury. The Surfer notices the falling helicopter and rushes to save her. However, Galactus hits the Surfer with a mighty blast, causing both the Surfer and Elyna to come crashing into the ground.

The world, including Colton, witness every moment of this tragedy as it is televised across the planet. The shock of seeing it brings people back to their senses, realizing that Galactus is not a savior but a threat. Distraught over Elyna's death, the Silver Surfer soars towards Galactus in anger, but is caught within this mighty grip. He prepares to destroy the Surfer, when the U.S. Air Force attacks. Realizing that the people of Earth have turned on him, Galactus gives up the fight, releases the Silver Surfer, and leaves the planet.

The Silver Surfer attends a meeting at the United Nations where he is thanked by the world for his efforts to save them from Galactus. They ask him to be their new holy leader, but no matter how much he refuses they continue to insist. Realizing that they will never stop, the Surfer acts like a tyrant in order to enrage the crowd and turn on him. Colton sees through the Surfer's act, but no one will listen to him. The Silver Surfer heads to space, leaving the people of Earth to their own devices.
