History

Silky Kirby was a racketeer who used his criminal reputation to try and influence the results of horse races. With his agent Spike, he threatened jockeys to throw races so that bets would win in his favor and he could get the biggest pay out at the tracks. When jockey Earl Sikes refused to throw the race, he was shot by Spike and left to die.

Unfortunately for Kirby, the Whizzer was on sight and raced Sikes to a hospital. Learning of Silky Kirby's operation, the speedster tracked Kirby to his hideout. There, the hero made short work of Kirby's men and in the heat of the battle, Kirby suffered a heart attack and died. With their leader dead, Kirby's gang was easily rounded up and turned over to the police.[1]
