History
Shell was an Orthoxalith, a modified alien built for labor and limited thinking.[1] He served as the brute force on the Death Commandos, who ran off-the-record missions for the Shi'ar Empire.
For their first assignment, they were sent to Earth where Shell participated in the extermination of the Grey Genome. However, they failed to kill Rachel Summers and were forced to retreat back to Chandilar.[2] They later loyally served under Araki during a civil war that broke out across the entire Shi'ar Empire.[3]
The Death Commandos were next tasked by Oracle with killing Deathbird and anyone accompanying her. Krait, D'Evo and Shell entered the escort vessel from the opposite side of the ship after the initial boarding party failed. He was attacked by Karma, who mind controlled him and commanded him to punch himself until he was knocked out while his other two teammates fell to the rest of the New Mutants. As a last ditch effort, Black Cloak ordered Warshot to destroy the entire vessel, and as a result, D'Evo and the other Death Commandos were all killed when they were thrown into space.[1]Attributes
Powers
- Geokinesis: His body is composed of rocks. He can throw parts of their rocky skin to his enemies at high speed, and can manipulate his body to encase their enemies.
