History
Ruffio Costa was a Maggia boss who had his men kidnap the son of Robert Tevanian Mallory, an inventor and industrialist, to blackmail him into turning over his plans for a tidal power station. He was confronted by Daredevil and Black Panther in a former weapons research lab. During the fight, he was exposed to the energies of exploding machinery which heightened the powers of his mind to an infinite degree, turning him into the Mind-Master. The two heroes fought him until his powers were overtaxed, causing him to revert to his human form, at which point he was easily defeated.
