Rita Conway is the secretary of the Daily Bugle, and good friend of Peter Parker.

History

Early life[]

Prior to her job as secretary at the Daily Bugle, Rita worked for Jim Colbert a while back, and when she needed a friend, he was there.[1]

Current Life[]

Season 1[]

She greeted Peter when he arrived at the Daily Bugle.[2]

Peter called Rita to find Mr. White's limousines license number for him, which she does.[3]

Peter visits Rita in her apartment, and they talk briefly. He tells her that he's going to go down to the university and check out a new exhibit in their museum, the statue of a god from Khalistan, Rava, which is the religion of a Khalistan cult that has become prominent on the campus.[4]

During a costume party, Peter briefly talks to Rita, and he goes into the bathroom to get his belt and camera ready. When Captain Barbara approaches one of the partygoers dressed as Spider-Man, mistaking him for the real Spidey. He begins berating him for putting the police through the hassle of cleaning up Moon's body, and he asks what happened on the roof. He rips Spidey's mask off, and finds that it's J. Jonah Jameson in the costume, who is very displeased by Barbara's behavior. Peter, in his costume, drives downstairs and takes Jameson's picture in the costume, and he and Rita laugh about it.[5]

Peter asks Rita to get in touch with Ted Roberts, a Bugle employee and sketch artist, for him. She and Peter later convince Jameson that he must've forgot about changing his mind, and that he's over-worked.[6]

Season 2[]

Peter and Rita stand outside of the newest, hi-tech building in New York, since Peter is there to get photos of the opening for the Daily Bugle. Julie Masters, a photographer of a rival newspaper, arrives, and Peter waves to her. Rita leaves in Peter's car, and Peter goes inside the building with Julie to take pictures.[7]

Rita gets a call at the Daily Bugle about the airport being shut down due to security.[8]

When her former employer, Jim Colbert was released from prison, Rita greeted him with a version of "For he's a jolly good fellow", and after some catching up, Colbert ask Rita to do a music number performance at the prison. But while Rita was doing her performance, a bomb goes off inside the prison, causing the prisoners to breakout. When she confronts Colbert at his house, Rita was tied up in the garage by Colbert's henchmen after revealing his true colors to her. But luckily, Peter and Julie rescue her, and after Colbert was defeated by Spider-Man, Rita sadly watches him get taken away, and Peter consoles her.

She was part of the Kirkwood Haunting mystery.

The police come in and ask Rita where Peter is, and she directs them into the photography development room, and they go in, and find the window open, and Peter nowhere to be found.

She, along with Art and David, were hypnotized by George Henson after she accidentally created a gas that controls people's minds.

Rita informs Jameson about the front page story about the mysterious gunman stalking the morgue, but he tells to kill the story which she grumpily does.
