History
Hrimthursar which translates as "Rime-Giants" were a primal race of giants. They were decended from giant Ymir. When the gods Odin, Ve and Vili killed the primal giant, his floating blood coused a great tide and the Rime-Giants were drowned, except a few which included Ymir's descendant Bergelmir and his wife.[citation needed]
After the death of his grandfather, Bergelmir and his wife lived in Jotunheim and became the ancestors of the Jötun (Frost Giants).[citation needed]
