Quote1 Earth. It's small. Isn't it Agent? Compared to the rest of the galaxy, it's just a spec in infinity. Yet, when it comes down to it, it's the center of the universe. It sure feels good to be home. Quote2

As a teenager, Richard Rider inherited the powers of Nova from a dying Nova Prime. Early on in his career, he fought crime as the Human Rocket but was called to space to serve the Nova Corps. He eventually returned to Earth and became a founding member of the New Warriors, but when the Annihilation Wave threatened Xandar, the home of the Nova Corps, Richard left Earth once again. However, the Annihilation Wave destroyed Xandar, leaving Richard as the sole survivor of the Nova Corps, imbuing him with the full power of the Nova Force. Fearing that the power within him would overwhelm him, Richard allied himself with the Worldmind, a living computer within the Nova Force, in order to control his new powers. He eventually partnered with Peter Quill in forming a group meant to battle greater cosmic threats in the galaxy, the Guardians of the Galaxy .

He was one of the many superheroes who joined S.H.I.E.L.D.'s alliance against villains after a mysterious Pulse hit the Earth and left a material called Isotope-8, desired by both heroes and villains.[1]
