History

Reginald Pavlish was a beloved community activist and advocate for the poor based in Greenwich Village. When he fell severely ill with an inoperable cancer, Pavlish sought out Dr. Stephen Strange, but without the funds to pay for the operation, Strange refused to treat him.

After returning from his incomplete training by the Ancient One in Kamar-Taj, Dr. Nicodemus West believed he could magically heal Pavlish's cancer by casting a spell causing his white blood cells to attack the cancer. However, the spell quickly backfired when Pavlish's white blood cells began attacking his entire body, killing him in minutes. It was Pavlish's death that motivated West to accept a position of C.E.O. at Timely Pharmaceuticals.
