History
Harvester, Victor Sternwood, and Tanuta Umbotha were formerly affiliated with Mys-Tech, gaining enhancements through the organization's research laboratories. Eventually, they departed from Mys-Tech and began working as mercenaries. Their services were sought by Takashei Otomo, the CEO of Otomocorp.[1]
Mys-Tech dispatched Q7 Strike Force to locate Union Jack. However, during their mission, they crossed paths with Iron Man, who was collaborating with the Knights of Pendragon at the time. Iron Man proved too formidable, overpowering the trio and causing Mys-Tech to teleport them away.[1]
Otomo discovered information about a potent weapon called the Gene Match Device, deliberately leaked by Mys-Tech. Acting on this intelligence, Otomo sent the Q7 Strike Force to the Nakasoni Corporation, a Mys-Tech subsidiary, with the intention of acquiring the Scanner. Their efforts were met with opposition from the Gene Dogs, dispatched by S.T.O.R.M. to prevent Otomo from obtaining the device. Although the Gene Dogs secured the Scanner, one of their members, Panther, fell victim to Banzai's attack.[2]
In response to the Gene Dogs' acquisition of the device, Mys-Tech dispatched Hurricane to retrieve it from S.T.O.R.M. However, Otomo had a spy named Suyin within Mys-Tech who leaked this information to him with the approval of Algernon Crowe, a Mys-Tech Techno-Wizard. With this knowledge, Otomo deployed the Q7 Strike Force to ambush Hurricane and reclaim the Scanner, transporting both Hurricane and the Scanner back to Otomocorp's headquarters in Siberia.[3]
Amidst their encounter, Hurricane found himself at the mercy of Sternwood's sadistic torments. Yet, Hurricane absorbed the energy, broke free, and seized mental control over Q7. The Gene Dogs arrived on the scene in an attempt to retrieve the Scanner. They managed to defeat Q7 by establishing a psychic link through Cat. However, Hurricane overwhelmed the Gene Dogs and imprisoned them alongside Q7.[4]
Q7 joined forces with the Gene Dogs after their imprisonment, and Otomo freed them to confront Hurricane, who had gained control of the Gene Scanner. Together, they journeyed to the Otomocorp Space Station, where Hurricane planned to utilize the Scanner to mutate a substantial portion of the Earth's population. The group, mentally linked by Cat, defeated Hurricane. Subsequently, Otomo tried to activate the Scanner for his own purposes against Mys-Tech. Unfortunately for Otomo, he discovered too late that the Scanner was, in reality, a bomb engineered to eliminate its user—a scheme devised by Mys-Tech, specifically Crowe, to eliminate Otomo as a competitor. Tanuta employed her teleportation abilities to ensure the safety of the Gene Dogs, Hurricane, and herself outside Otomocorp HQ. It is presumed that Tanuta teleported her allies to an alternate location.[5]See Also
