History

A simple hatchet that has been at Typhon's side since the time of his conception by Gaia. Forged at an unknown time and place within the domain of Hades using a host of unknown Olympian metals, Typhon the god king of all monsters had used this mighty weapon since before the time of myth and legends.

It wasn't until escaping his eternal torment in Tartarus where he made his way to the inner sanctum of Olympus with the intent of dousing the Promethean Flame, in the deed of knocking it over his weapon of choice was empowered with both the might of Olympus itself as well as that of the Land of Shades. Making the killing power of the weapon all that much more deadly in the ancient god beasts hands.[1]

Properties

The ax soaked in the powers of the legendary Promethean Flame which bestows Olympians with their divinity and immortality. By itself, the battle ax can rend and tear the all but indestructible hide of even the mightiest Olympians with ease.[2] Making it an incredibly lethal armament that could potentially end the life of an immortal.

Through it Typhon can channel all the dark, malefic forces of the dreaded dark dominion the flames drew strength from. Enabling its wielder to summon creatures from this dark realm as well as banish others too it, through the ax he could command creatures of this world to do his bidding as he had done the beast named Tartaro called to aid him against Hercules.[1]

Typhon can use it either to properly channel his own divine might through its edge or channel the extra-dimensional energies of the Shade realm to fire bolts of lightning from its edge. When next bathed in the fires of Olympus, he discovered in a fit of rage that it had the power to breach between dimensions; accidentally tearing a rift from Olympus to Earth enabling him and Cylla to escape there.[3]
