Synopsis for "The Boys Are Back"

Luke and Danny meet at the Department of Correction's dock on the East River in the Bronx to pick up White Jennie, who has just been released from Ryker's Island after serving five years for the murder of Eugene Mason.

They take her to the Excelsior Diner and ask if there's anything they can do for her to help her get back on her feet. She's hesitant at first, but Danny tells her, as the Heroes for Hire's former office manager, that she's family, and they'd do anything for her. Reluctantly she tells them that her ex owed a lot of people money, that a necklace which belonged to her grandmother had been taken, and that she'd like their help in recovering it from the current owner, Lonnie Lincoln.

Luke and Danny then go to Manhattan to see the Tombstone in Harlem and request that he return Jennie's grandmother's necklace, but the mobster refuses, saying that he won the necklace in a card game with The Hood, not from any debt collection. Feeling disrespected by the accusations of his being a thief, as well as the very presence of Iron Fist, things rapidly take a turn for the worse, forcing Luke and Danny to fight their way past numerous gangsters as they take the necklace and flee.

The duo then return to the South Bronx where Jennie is staying at the Sisters of Mercy House, a home for female parolees. Returning the necklace they hug and part ways. Over in Harlem, Lonnie is enraged and refers to the stolen necklace as the Supersoul Stone; meanwhile, Luke returns home to play with his daughter, Dani, as he insists to his wife, Jessica, that he and Danny are not getting back together. Elsewhere, Danny excitedly reminisces about their time as the Heroes for Hire, convinced they'll be getting back together soon.

Back at the Sisters of Mercy House, Jennie explains that she knew her partner didn't believe she'd be able to convince Luke and Danny to help them acquire the Supersoul Stone, but a bit of tears was all it took and she can't believe that Danny considers her family after letting her rot in prison for years. She then hands the necklace to Black Mariah who gleefully sees the artifact as the first step towards their taking over of Tombstone's soon-to-be-crumbling criminal empire.
