The history of this incarnation of Peter Parker largely mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart, up untill Tony Stark sold his Iron Man technology and made non-tech heroes obsolete. Like many of his fellow heroes, Parker retired from superheroing.

Years later, Parker witnessed the villain Beetle go on a rampage. The damage Beetle’s caused got so bad that Parker had no other choice. He puts a paper bag over his head and takes him on as the Amazing Bag-Man. Although he is severly outmatched by the technological superior villain, it’s just enough to distract Beetle until the Iron Guard pops in and fries his armor. They fly off to face another threat in the city as Peter wonders how long it’ll be until these guys are outclassed.

Not long after this, when Magneto declared war on the United Nations, Parker visited Dr. Strange to convince him the superheroes need to return. Using the Orb of Agamotto, the two see the whereabouts of their peers. But Strange finds they will be met with reluctance. Matt Murdock and his wife Elektra are enjoying their life in Greece. Thor rules Asgard in his father’s place. Hank Pym and Wasp have gone back to science, leaving their hero lives behind. Peter doesn’t care. He knows that Strange came back because he knows something bad is coming. If Strange can see the light, so can the rest. He is proven right when all the heroes return to fight Magneto. Parker, once again as Spider-Man also joined the battle against the Acolytes. He, along with Daredevil and Elektra, also stands up to Iron Man and his new Overload armor when the latter comes to finish off Magneto.

When Magneto was defeated and Iron Man convinced to become a hero, Spider-Man joined the newly formed Avengers.
