The Other Realm is an alternate dimension accessible to the people of Earth through a portal on the Moon. It exists on a higher "spatio-temporel [sic] plane" than Earth-616, and things that are impossible on Earth, such as flying mountains, are commonplace there.[1]

History

Long ago, the Other Realm was ruled by the Stargod. In centuries past, he began to grow old and weak, and opened a portal to Earth's Moon for a place where he could die peacefully. In doing so, he left behind his crystallized life force in the form of the Godstone.[1]

Godwar[]

On a geological mission to the Moon, American astronaut John Jonah Jameson III unknowingly collected the Godstone among his samples.[2]

When the Stargod's absence allowed the false god Arisen Tyrk to rise to power over the Other Realm, the warriors Garth, Gorjoon and Lambert sought the Godstone's power. Though Jameson spent some time on and around Earth using the Stargod's lupine powers without knowing its true origin or purpose, when the three returned him to the lunar surface,[3] he found himself uncontrollably drawn to the Stargod's portal. When he arrived, the locals quickly accepted him as the new Stargod destined to free them from Tyrk's control, supplying him with the Sacred Sword of Stargod.[1]

With the help of the three warriors as well as the Doubter Sashiel, the Mute Barq, and the Acolyte Duna, Jameson as Stargod was able to vanquish the usurper Tyrk. Though Tyrk survived long enough to destroy the portal back to Earth, the stone's Godforce was enough for Jameson to eventually create another portal of his own and return home.[4]

During Anath-Na Mut's war with himself across time, Arisen Tyrk's floating fortress became one of their proxy battles, with the older Sphinx placing Namorita into the fray to do battle with Stargod. When the battle ended prematurely, Stargod was returned to his appropriate time stream.[5]

Shrinking[]

In the Stargod's absence, the Other Realm began to collapse upon itself, and shrank small enough that it was hidden within the blood of Jennifer Walters, the Savage She-Hulk. When a mad scientist tried to kill Jameson with an injection of radioactive material, the Godstone protected him by teleporting him to another realm - a Microverse located within one of the pearls on the She-Hulk's necklace. The Godstone received a signal, telling Jameson he was within range of the power of the Other Realm - but no matter how far he flew, he was unable to reach it.

All the Wizard Lambert knew about the Other Realm's condition was that the power of the She-Hulk had something to do with halting the process. With their Godforce absent, Hellcat's Shadow Cloak was the only portal between the two dimensions, and Lambert and his warriors kidnapped Hellcat in an attempt to get to the She-Hulk. Attempting to teleport her inside herself, however, was a paradox which caused her to inadvertently enter a downward spiral in size. She encountered Jameson inside this intense gravity field, who realized that he could use his Godforce to stabilize the Other Realm from within if he could use the Shadow Cloak to enter the She-Hulk's body. The Microverse threatened to shatter under the strain: back on Earth, however, Walters' acquaintance Zapper found her set of pearls and shattered them out of jealousy that she had received them from another man. The breaking of the pearls allowed the energy to safely drain from inside, saving the Microverse within.[6]

The Stargod's visions of further adventures in Other Realm

After the Stargod left his kingdom the second time, something befell the Other Realm, destroying much of its surface and leaving a wasteland behind. When Entea, the spawn of the planetary being Euphoria, took root on the Moon, it captured the Agents of Wakanda who arrived to investigate, and Jameson was filled with visions of further exploits of the Stargod, such as defending the Other Realm from intergalactic invaders. To get Entea away from the Moon, he supplied her with some of his Godforce to feed upon, and offered to move her to the Other Realm; though he was distressed to find what had happened to it in his absence, Entea found the Other Realm still had rich soil beneath the rubble, and offered to use her own ecosystem to restore the Realm to its former lush state. Jameson accepted the offer, and left the Agents of Wakanda so that he could look over the Realm's restoration for a time.[7]
