Not to be confused with the other One Above All.

History

Celestial War[]

The One Above All was one of the Celestials who rebelled against the Aspirants and First Firmament. They shattered the First Cosmos into the Second Cosmos, the first Multiverse, and later created the Omegas as servitors.[1]

The Celestials were split across the Multiverse. Their counterparts are interconnected aspects of themselves and not separate beings.[2] Thus, the One Above All of Earth-616 is one aspect of the true One Above All.

Commanding the Fourth Host[]

One Above All (Celestial) (First Cosmos) from Thor Vol 1 288 001

At the conclusion of Arishem the Judge's 50 year judgment of Earth, the planet's Fourth Host arrived to determine if it should live or die. As the other Celestials descended on to the Earth, the One Above All commanded the Host from the mothership.[3] Two American astronauts, three Deviants, and the Eternal known as the Forgotten One attempted to visit him; the One Above All scanned their minds and teleported the crews of each ship to a different spacecraft, allowing the Forgotten One to disarm the Deviants' bomb.[4] The One Above All rescued the Forgotten One and then dispatched him to Olympia to advise all Eternals and gods not to interfere in Celestial judgment.[5] The One Above All later teleported the Thunder God Thor and the Forgotten One aboard the mothership, and showed Thor an image of Odin bowing before Arishem from the Third Host. The One Above All then teleported Thor back to Earth.[6] In the end, Arishem declared Earth as worthy and all the Celestials left.[7]

Secret Wars II[]

When the Beyonder was about to kill Death, many cosmic entities, including the One Above All of the Celestials, gathered to protest. Death was killed, but the Beyonder was convinced to bring her back.[8]

Infinity Gauntlet[]

Cosmic Beings from Infinity Gauntlet Vol 1 3 001

With other cosmic entities

After Thanos completed the Infinity Gauntlet, many cosmic entities gathered to make a request to the Living Tribunal to intervene. The One Above All and Ziran the Tester were the Celestial representatives. The Living Tribunal, however, decided not to interfere and the rest of the cosmic entities joined forces to take on Thanos head-on. Despite their united efforts, the cosmic entities were no match for might of the Infinity Gauntlet and were defeated. Thanos' carelessness allowed Nebula to steal the Gauntlet from him, which freed the cosmic entities from Thanos' prison. They immediately went on a full assault against Nebula, but were once again defeated by the Infinity Gauntlet. They were restored once Adam Warlock obtained the Gauntlet.[9]

Eternity War[]

Most of the Celestials were destroyed when the Beyonders attacked the Multiverse.[10] The Beyonders were trying to end the Multiverse, and succeeded, until it was brought back as the Eighth Cosmos.[11] A few Celestials, including the One Above All, apparently survived.[12]

Land of Couldn't-Be-Shouldn't-Be from Ultimates 2 Vol 1 100 002

Rebirth of the Celestials

Under the influence of the Celestials' ancient foes, the First Firmament and the Aspirants, the corrupted Lord Chaos and Master Order fused with the In-Betweener to become Logos and install themselves as the new embodiment of multiversal law.[13] Logos then annihilated the remaining Celestials,[12] while the First Firmament watched and laughed.[14] However, the Queen of Nevers whisked the One Above All to safety within the Land of Couldn't-Be-Shouldn't-Be.[12] During the final fight against the First Firmament's forces, the Never Queen used the One Above All to kickstart the rebirth of the Celestials, who then entered the Superflow and wiped out the Aspirants. With the corrupting agents neutralized, Eternity was able to summon the Ultimate Ultimates and defeat the First Firmament.[15]

Multiverse[]

Quote1 Unlike you and me, who have separate aspects in each universe, the Celestials exist as aspects of one being linked across the Multiverse simultaneously. Quote2
Dark Beast[src]

The Celestials exist across the Multiverse simultaneously. A Celestial's alternate reality selves are actually aspects of the same being.[2] Despite this, their alternate aspects may have very different histories from the ones in the mainstream Marvel Universe.

Earth-9997[]

One Above All (Celestial) (First Cosmos) Earth X Vol 1 12

On Earth-9997, this aspect of the One Above All was one of the Celestials who long since evolved past physical bodies. The Celestials reproduced by impregnating a planet with their essence, which in time would gestate into an infant Celestial. To protect the growing fetus, they would genetically modify the people of said world, greatly enhancing their evolutionary potential and imbuing them with a certain level of aggressiveness.[16] One of these impregnated planets was Earth. After the populace of Earth fully mutated prematurely, the One Above All and other Celestials travelled to the world to purge it of all life before they could threaten the infant Celestial.[17] They were met with opposition from Black Bolt on the Moon, the One Above All and the Celestials would kill Black Bolt and then set their sights on Earth.[18]

On Earth, they would be opposed by Namor and an army of sea creatures, Tony Stark in a giant robotic factor and an army of Iron Men robots, and an army of Asgardians led by Loki. This bought the Earth precious moments for the arrival of "Galactus" (actually Franklin Richards) who was called to Earth by Black Bolt before his death. Galactus was able to fight off the Celestials, destroying some and forcing the others into retreat. The One Above All's current whereabouts are unknown.[19]
