History
Nyglar was Blastaar's wife and presumably the mother of his son Burstarr. She was one of the few people to survive a revolution led by Blastaar's father, Grondaar. Their son, Burstaar was taken into hiding and raised away from them to avoid him getting killed. Blastaar then reclaimed the throne.
When Blastaar came up with a plan to defeat his rival, Annihilus, she initially agreed. She pretended to have been captured and the planet set up a ruse that Blastaar was still in exile and that he never returned. Blastaar then journeyed to Annihilus' kingdom, where he begged Annihilus to help him reclaim his throne and pledged that his people would serve him. Annihilus agreed and, meanwhile, a fake slave trader sold Nyglar to Annihilus.
Blastaar then freed her and convinced Annihilus that Blastaar's people really had overthrown him. However, she soon began to see that Blastaar had grown more and more violent and realize that it was no longer an act, so she contacted the Avengers in order to get them to save the Negative Zone from total war.
Meanwhile, she overheard Annihilus' plans to betray Blastaar and destroy Baluur. She attempted to tell Blastaar, but Annihilus killed her before she could and revealed that she was the one who called the Avengers. In order to keep up his ruse, however, Blastaar pretended to be unaffected by her death and agreed she was a traitor. When the Annihilation Wave reached Baluur, Blastaar's army arrived and destroy Annihilus' fleet, though he managed to escape.[1] This battle led to the people overthrowing Blastaar again for his endangerment of lives just to beat Annihilus.[2]Trivia
- Nyglar has a thick beard.
