History
Nia Jones was a former CIA agent, who in her career as an agent she met and worked with Nick Fury. The pair worked together on a mission against Hydra, destroying a base in Czechoslovakia. The two later became lover's, but she fell pregnant and the two had a son named Nick Fury Jr.[1]
She moved to Atlanta, Georgia to raise the child changing her name to Nia Johnson and naming to child Marcus Johnson to protect him from her former life. She took a job as a social studies teacher, and brought up Marcus. The two had a quiet life until Marcus joins the army.
She is later killed by a Russian mercenary squad lead by Orion, with the riots caused by the Serpent's fear-spreading serving as cover for the crime.[2]
While serving in Afghanistan her son received word his mother had died, and returned to Atlanta to attend her funeral, an event also secretly attended by Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter.
Following the funeral, he visited her house, which had been looted during riots caused by the global fear. Looking through the home and discovering blood and a bullet casing, he realized that his mother's death had been a deliberate murder.
