3 of the characters in this issue were clones. Kymaera is a clone of Namora created by Vyrrah because she could not have children. Speedball at this point was replaced by a clone created in the future by Darrion Grobe in a bid to save the timeline from Advent. Scarlet Spider was a clone of Spider-Man created by the Jackal for revenge for the death of Gwen Stacy.
