History

At some point in time, Doctor Doom laid waste to Namor's homeland under the sea. Namor, however, was able to extract "a most terrible vengeance". Until Doctor Strange comes to find him, Namor has been watching over the islands around Hawaii.

Namor would later be revealed as holding Doom captive for years. Doom escaped and tortured Namor. Namor was freed after both Doom and Reed Richards sacrificed themselves on the Crossroads of Infinity.
