History

Councilman Nagendra Singh was a member of the World Security Council who oversee the daily operations of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Singh and his fellow Council members were frustrated with the delays of Project: Insight, which involved the creation of three self-sustaining S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarriers that would link to spy satellites and were designed to pre-emptively eliminate threats. Council member Alexander Pierce got the project back on schedule after the apparent death of Director Fury, and then invited Councilman Singh and the others to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s main headquarters, the Triskelion to witness the launch of the Insight helicarriers.

The invitation was nothing more than a ruse however, and was designed to put the World Security Council into a controlled position where they could do nothing to interfere with Project Insight. This was revealed soon after when Captain America broadcast an announcement over the Triskelion's public address system that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been compromised by Hydra, and that Pierce was Hydra's leader. Pierce promptly took the Council hostage, and began to extol the virtues of his plans to the others. Singh rejected Pierce's suggestions, and was about to be shot for his resistance when Councilwoman Hawley attacked and reversed the hostage situation, then revealed herself to be the Black Widow in disguise. In retaliation, Pierce triggered super hot flare charges in the councilmen's bio-metric security badges, killing Councilman Singh in the process.[1]
