History

When King Black Bolt activated a Terrigen Bomb above New York City, it released the Terrigen Mist around the world, awakening the powers of Inhuman descendants that have been living among humanity. As the mist engulfed the state of Illinois, one family became affected by it.

Dante and his mother were both encased in cocoons prepared for the transformation when they were visited by an outlaw Inhuman named Lash who traveled around collecting the cocoons to see if the individual was worthy of the powers they would possess. Unfortunately Dante's mother only possessed enough Inhuman DNA to trigger the cocoon but not enough for the transformation which resulted in her death.
