History

Origin

Some 5,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt, the Jewish people lived in Egypt under the King's rule.[1]

He hated and feared them, so had them treated like slaves, but they kept prospering, so he ordered his soldiers to kill every son born of them.

A woman of House of Levi who had a son hid him for three months, and was eventually forced to hid him in an arc of bulrushes, in the plants of the bank of the river.[2]

Egyptian royalty

He was found by the daughter of the King, and because she drew him out of the water, called him Moses.[2]

In exile

One day, he witnessed Egyptian soldiers mistreating Hebrews, and so killed the soldier. To evade the King's wrath, he went on an exile from Egypt.

She went to Midian, befriended the priest of the land, and married his daughter Zipporah, which bore him a son, whom he named Gershom, for he had been a stranger in a strange land.

Egypt King finally died, but the Israelites still suffered[2] under Pharaoh Ramses,[3] who cried to God. God, recalling his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, went to Moses, and set a bush into flame, and then told Moses to take his people out of Egypt, and into a land of milk and honey. He his rod a magic staff and told him to go and meet Aaron, who would be his spokesman.

He met Aaron,[2] his brother,[3] told the elders of God's promise, and then went with Aaron.

Savior the Jewish People

Moses bested the Pharaoh's chief wizard Anath-Na Mut. Both threw their staffs down and turned them into snakes, but Moses's snake swallowed Anath-Na Mut's which led to Anath-Na Mut being banished from the Pharaoh's court for humiliating the Pharaoh.[1] Another account states it was Aaron who threw the rod.

Moses freed his people from Egypt and led them through Egypt by parting the Red Sea. When the flood waters came back they drowned the Pharaoh's men. Another Egyptian wizard who despised Moses named Nephut-Sha placed a curse on Moses. Nephut-Sha sacrificed many humans to Seth in his bid for revenge against Moses and the Jewish people. Seth transformed Nephut-Sha into the two demons Gog and Magog.[4]

Moses also was said to be menaced by the ancient sorceress Obmu-Doski.[5]

Transfiguration

Jesus went on a mountain with his disciples Peter, James and John, and while they were praying, Moses and Elijah appeared beside him.[6]
