History
Minouru Kawade and his wife Deanna lived in Atlanta, Georgia with their son Kei, an avid fan of monsters who liked to spend his time drawing them. When the Terrigen Cloud swept through town, it activated latent Inhuman genes within Kei who then entered into a cocoon and underwent Terrigenesis, transforming him into a NuHuman with the ability to summon the monsters he drew.
At first, neither Minouru nor Deanna believed their son had acquired powers, because there were no outward signs. When Xemnu suddenly destroyed his place of business, the family was forced to relocate to St. Louis, Missouri in order for him to find work. After a second monster attack, Minouru and Deanna began to suspect their son, and commenced moving around the country to avoid attracting attention to the monsters' connection with Kei,[1] with their latest home being in Springfield.[2]
During the Leviathon Tide's invasion, Kei was kidnapped by occult expert Elsa Bloodstone to use his ability to summon monsters independent of the Tide to fight off the invasion. The superheroes Elsa took Kei to later reunited his parents with him at the Baxter Building, which had become their base of operations during the tide.[1]
Following the defeat of the Tide and their leader, the Leviathon Mother, Kei was given an entire island the Inhumans created for him, named Mu, which served as his and his parent's home, as well as a refuge for the monsters of his own creation.[3]See Also
