Mindful Ones

The Mindful Ones are former Mindless Ones who have been granted some level of intelligence through various means.

History

As part of a ploy to convince Spider-Man to teach him to be a better hero, Deadpool hired an actor to pretend to be Dormammu and staged a fight to team-up with Spider-Man. In the middle of the battle, Deadpool jammed brains retrieved from a morgue into the Mindless Ones' heads, supposedly turning them into "Mindful Ones" which rebelled against their master.^[1]

Another Mindful One who had been enhanced by Sir Isaac Newton to act as his servant^[2] was invited by Doctor Strange to stay with him as long as he desired,^[3] and eventually, joined Strange Academy as the Dormitory Resident and the personal chef for the students.^[4]

Mindful Ones from Marvel Future Revolution 001 — Scarlet Witch's Mindful Ones

When the Dark Domain was formed from various afterlifes, including the Dark Dimension, Scarlet Witch headed there to prevent the chaos within from spreading to other domains of the Primary Earth. Among other things, she used Chaos Magic to transform many of Dormammu's Mindless Ones into the Mindful Ones, directing them to protect numerous civilians who have fallen into the Dark Domain through dimensional rifts. After Scarlet Witch departed for Niffleheim, her identity in the Dark Dimension was usurped by Hela, who took on Wanda's guise to deceive other heroes to her advantage. The Mindful Ones continued to serve "the Red Witch", because they were still not too bright and thus unable to discern that she was not their creator.
