  • Could you please not remove the appearance tags for stories that are new and not reprints, even if another story within the comic is. The second are third stories in Avengers Classic Vol 1 are new and thus need to keep there appearance tags. Could I ask you go back to each of the individual comics and undo the changes you made to the second and third stories. In future if you are unsure if a story is new, first check something like Marvel Chronology project] to see if its new

    • Sorry, I may have been confusing, you can remove the tags within those comics for the first story, since it is a reprint. Stories after that though should have there tags restored

    • Yeah, I understood, I hadn't the time to correct it line by line, so I decided to undo all the changes, sorry

    • Oh Thats fine, just making sure we were on the same page. Thanks for putting the work in to fix the reprints

    • I am trying to delete all appearences in reprints to separate them from "original" comics... I am making a personal project where I am crossreferencing many marvel databases to make a list of all non-reprints marvel comics, and while doing it I found those comics in the wikia :) (as the wikia doesn't consider original comcis and reprints as different things, my script use the existence of appearences as a flag)

I am planning to release an excel with all inconsistencies I found in all databases so that people can look at them and fix errors in all of them, but I am quite a long way to that yet XD

The topic of dates, for example, is all and issue... I have found this wikia and comicvine the ones with more correct data and so my usual refrence...

  • Please don't remove the appearance tags from comics which are publications of digital comics, the discussion on how to deal with these has only just begun a decision has not been reached

  • Hi!

I saw you've erased the "CharRef" when it was not written the right way (and thus didn't worked).

I checked some of your contributions but I don't know if your clean-up of wrongly written fields involved more than the 4 or 5 I've corrected. Could you revert and correct those I may have missed?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hey, no idea if this is the correct way to message you. But regarding the edit on https://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Steven_Rogers_(Earth-460)?diff=next&oldid=4521316 This removed the BaseOfOperation tag shown on the page, didn’t it?

    • Dmn, quite the list. Will see if I can help tomorrow. Also, for now I was sticking to some easy fixes. Because there are quite some tags that are not in the templates, and I dont know the correct tag for it. (Dont want to simply delete them in those cases because that would mean we are losing data there (even though it wasnt displayed))

        Loading editor
    • no problem, I have corrected most of them by now :)

  • Please, whenever you upload a new image, be sure to follow these three simple steps:

    1) Be sure the image name acts in accordance with our site's Naming Conventions.

    2) Once the image is uploaded, please don't forget licensing.

    • If you uploaded it through the Special:Upload function, make use of the "Licensing (Required)" dropdown feature before clicking "Upload File," so it can be legally displayed on the wiki.
    • If you uploaded it through the "Add a photo to this gallery" function on the bottom of galleries, or you didn't select any licensing option in the dropdown feature of Special:Upload, you'll have to add the licensing manually. Go to the uploaded image and click "Edit," you'll see two rows of buttons to insert templates or format functions. Click on the button that has a single polaroid photograph on it (found in the bottom row), and the template will be added. Be sure to fill in the "License" field with the respective license. Most common licenses are "Comic Single Panel," "Comic Cover," "TV Screenshot" and "Movie Screenshot." If the licensing you added is not valid, the image will still appear as unlicensed.

    3) Whether the image template with licensing has been added automatically or has been inserted manually on the image, please be sure to fill in the respective fields there are, including "Source," "Universe," "Subject#," etc. to help sort it out.

    Thanks!

    • I added the images from the profiles themselves... then I change the link to "image field" (without thumb, etc) format... Is thar the correct way? If not, then how?

    • You didn't do anything wrong there, I just removed the underlines because I don't like them at all.

  • Hi!

Please don't add manually categories when the template can handle it. For example, "Year Characters Debuts" is coded when correctly added in the "First" field of the character template. In order to correct it for comics, you have to put the rest of the text in a "First2" field. An example: http://marvel.wikia.com/index.php?title=Galan_%28Earth-616%29&diff=3784816&oldid=3784591

Characters who are only mentioned don't need those categories.

That category isn't really important, but if you add memberships, physical features, origins or citizenships (for example), there is module that add automatically the categories regarding the words added in the fields of the template. Always use it if possible so we can change it without effort when needed. For example, I have currently the Category:Humans to depopulate and to add (using the right words in the origin field) for them to be added to Category:Humans (Homo sapiens).

    Thanks in advance.

    • I just saw this message! Thanks! (I am quite sure this is an auto message, but all the same :))

By the way, is there any way to edit that link I talked about in this topic? I found edits for all kind of things in the wiki, but not for that... (it is not important at all, just asking out of curiosity)
