  • This user had commenced a civil discussion which I contributed to about the Morbius movie in development and the topic shifted to the cancelled Silver & Black film which I revealed to him as not happening. He disregarded my statement and argued against my personal thoughts with bias against the films in development. I told him Morbius was still happening in development while Silver & Black wasn't, to which he replied "No shit sherlock. I'm talking about the Black Cat and the Silver Sable films." I told him his language was intolerable, to which he responded "What language?".

    • No need to apologize, you were just the first discussion mod I thought of that could give us a better idea if there's a legit issue we need to address here or if it's more of a minor dispute between users that just needs a "knock it off" to resolve. ^_^

    • It’s just a minor dispute, and things seem to have calmed down since. It likely doesn’t need a follow-up.

Thank you asking me to weigh in :)

  • I noticed that the characters of Betty (Earth-700974) and that of Kelly (Earth-700974) from the 1979 The Thing cartoon got mixed up. The picture and stats on the Betty (Earth-700974) page are those of Kelly. I tried to revise the entry but couldn't easily rename the pages title itself from Betty to Kelly as it should be so I reverted it back to it's original version and gave up, but this discrepancy does warrant attention and corrections. • Can you tell me which episodes the images that you uploaded are from, so I can rename them accordingly?

        Loading editor
    • I didn't upload that image, it was already there. Kelly was a main character in all the episodes, not sure which episode this image came from.

  • I am sure Venomy is not allowed, considering it's not a actual Marvel character, but a user account page.

  • I had asked about Hope Pym and Nadia van Dyne getting separate pages on Talk:Hope Pym, and the coversation had come to a conclusion that Red Queen would be the main counterpart on Hope Pym's page with the alternates of Hope and Nadia on the page, while Nadia had her own page for differentiation just like Gwen Stacy has her own page while Spider-Gwen has her own page linking back to Gwen Stacy through the related header. Seeing how the page was finally unprotected, I took it upon myself to see the changes that fit what was discussed on the talk page. If you read the talk page I linked to above, the last statement by User:Edward Zachary Sunrose actually makes sense, and I enacted that statement in my edits, thus resolving my question on the talk page. If you understand, than I would appreciate for my edits to be reverted back to as I had them, or I will be fine with a few minor changes that you see fit, as well.

    • Nadia and Hope can be alternates of eachother, but if Nadia is to be the main character, than she deserves her page as "Nadia Van Dyne" and not "Hope Pym", but instead of having "Hope Pym" and "Hope van Dyne" redirect to "Nadia Van Dyne", they could instead be contained in the "Hope Pym" page with Red Queen as the main character, while the Hopes are listed there, and the "Related" header keeps Hope Pym and Nadia van Dyne's pages linked due to their similarites. I'm not trying to disregard you, and I understand your statements and how Nadia/Hope both correlate to Red Queen, and I see that Nadia means Hope, but due to their names being different, and with the Nadia page being made, the Hopes should be separate yet connected to the Nadia page to prevent further inconsistencies like this.

    • Again, they're all iterations of the same character, so I see no need for multiple disambiguations. Personally I think it should stay "Hope Pym" and the Red Queen should be the main, but it's not up to just me, so I'll accept the community consensus if it's in favor of the "Nadia Van Dyne" format instead.

  • Hey, I'm gonna be changing May and Simmons of Earth-TRN676 and Fitz of Earth-TRN679 back to Secret Identity, as it is mentioned in the episode that they lived under fake names to avoid Kree attention.HBK123 (talk) 07:25, June 25, 2018 (UTC)

    • Ok, I didn't notice that. For the context of that it makes sense I guess.

    • For Enoch (Earth-199999), why did you use a picture for it that's the TRN676 version (who we see at the end of episode 5)?

Because I made I mistake. I don't have access to the series to make fresh screenshots, so I googled one from Episode 5, forgetting that it includes the segment in the future. Going to fix this now. HBK123 (talk) 07:29, June 26, 2018 (UTC)

  • You deleted the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 page I made due to it not having any official release date, put James Gunn has already stated previously that the film is one of the three 2020 releases by Marvel Studios. James Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Is Coming in 2020. Scroll down to Gunn's tweet where he confirms Guardians 3 for a 2020 release date.

    • Also James Gunn has already confirmed the title as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Third 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Movie Title Revealed!

        Loading editor
    • We don't create pages for movies unless they have full release dates (MM DD, YYYY) that are also confirmed. While it may be one of the 3 MCU slots currently in 2020, we hold off on creating a page for any of them until the titles for each slot is announced, even if we know which movies might possibly be in one of them.

    • On my Twitter I tweeted to James Gunn asking if Guardians Vol. 3 is the May 2020 release date due to consistency from the previous film, but he has yet to reply. I was wondering if there is any other way or another source that confirms the official release of the film.

        Loading editor
    • I once saw a tweet where he responded to a claim that the movie would come out May 1, 2020, saying that it was false. Which probably means either, that it's coming out that year but that specific date and something else is planned for it, or it is coming out in May specifically but the dates they've set are subject to change so it't not guaranteed.

I can't tell you when it will be revealed what movies will be in said slots, but they are usually covered by the usual sites (CBR, Screen Rant, Hollywood Reporter, Deadline) as soon as they are revealed (through a convention panel and/or on Marvel.com).

  • Hi. Who do I talk to to get three character pages from Spider-Man: Homecoming moved to a different link? These characters should be moved already because their Talk Pages haven't been touched in over a year:

      • Elizabeth Allan (Earth-199999) because there's no proof that her last name would be legally Allan, since her father's last name is "Toomes". She is never called Liz Allan in the movie, also.
      • Doris Allen (Earth-199999) because it's the wrong spelling. Also her maiden name "Allan" is never mentioned in the film too.
      • Damage Control (Earth-199999) to United States Department of Damage Control because that's the official name of the Organization. The page was originally created because of a comic that is not considered canon anymore.

    • Nope, James Gunn has said on Twitter and Instagram that the title is "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"

        Loading editor
    • And said user tried to argue for the creation of the page, saying that "Gunn confirmed it has a 2020 release", while ignoring my point that it doesn't have a full one yet, even if it is likely that it will be on May 1 of that year, since while they're announced there's no guarantee they are solid and not subject to change.

  • Hello, I have two questions. Can regular non-admin users move pages, and if not, why does it take so long for pages to be moved? As an example, The Interrogator (Earth-TRN620) page had the move tag for over a year now and nothing happened to it, but there are many others like it. If users aren't allowed to move pages themselves, is there a list or category with all required moves somewhere for Administrators to check frequently? HBK123 (talk) 15:16, May 25, 2018 (UTC)

      Loading editor
    • Only moderators and administrators can move pages and images. Pages that have move-tags on them are listed in Category:Move and its relevant sub-categories.

For the page for The Interrogator, it mainly has to do with not everyone being familiar with the show 'Legion' to where one can move it with confidence. It is usually left to those who are familiar with said material. Main one I can think of being LoveWaffle who is the one that creates the episode pages and adds the relevant information whenever a new episode has aired.

    • So it's a matter of pinging either Mod or Admin who frequently edits relevant pages? Got it, thanks. HBK123 (talk) 15:26, May 25, 2018 (UTC)

  • In response to your question, I just found it like that and assumed an admin would add them once it was ok

      Loading editor
    • Yeah and I noticed ADour did some stuff to the page without adding the categories, so I was confused if it was something I was unaware of. I assumed it wouldn't be for spoiler reasons since not only is it the 27th, but also because it has been released in other regions already.

  • Hello,

I am writing you on behalf of the trans community and LGBT fans of Marvel everywhere. On a recent browse of the Marvel wiki I noticed a page titled "Transvestites" [link: http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Transvestites] and, fearing the worst, clicked. I do not know how widely this is known outside of the trans community, but the term "transvestite" is considered decades out of date at best and horribly offensive at worst. This wiki has previously replaced the offensive (though highly used) term "G*psy" in favor of the correct and less pejorative "romani"; I would ask that the same be done for this category.

The argument may arise that "transvestite" and transgender refer to two different things, with the former referring to "cross-dressers" or drag kings/queens. I disagree with this on several counts. As a trans woman I have been referred to as a "transvestite" by bigots on multiple occasions, while the people I have known that are involved in drag never use it. The word strongly implies the "dirty man-in-a-dress" stereotypes that are all-too-commonly thrown against trans women.

Even accepting "transvestite" to mean "cross-dresser", however, presents its own complications. Besides the highly transphobic connotations, the placement of the category under "Gender/Sexual minorities" does not make sense in this light (as even a straight cisgender man can wear a dress, etc). Additionally, there is no qualifier for what defines "cross-dressing", as clothing does not itself have a gender and as many characters have been put in drag for the sake of (admittedly transphobic) jokes. This makes the category extremely subjective and not of much practical use.

I have been a huge Marvel fan from a young age and I greatly appreciate the work that this wiki does; it was this very wiki that recently prompted me to properly sit down and read comics for the first time since I was a child. I believe that all Marvel fans, regardless of gender identity, should have the opportunity to have fun reading about the characters we all love without seeing slurs targeted against them.

Thank you for reading this letter, and I hope that you will take this plea to heart and remove this category for the reasons outlined above.

    - A trans Marvel fan
