Do we have a page that lists all the comics, shows, etc. that are missing synopses? (or just have a solicited synopsis from the promotional blurb).
If not, is it possible to make a template that could be added so we can see all of those missing synopsis pages on one Category page and get an actual feel for what statistic of missing content we're dealing with?
(The only reason that idea makes me hesitant is that I don't want having a template that can be added that says "missing synopsis" to encourage people not to write synopses. Though it looks like that is happening any way.)
We're working on overhauling the entire welcome information and automated interaction to include manuals to better explain our policies, etc. and Marvel Database:Things to do will find a home somewhere in there as well, so I'm sure we can add synopses to the revamped list.
Sorry about that. I had that page open in edit mode in another tab for a while from before you and TMAO made your revisions and I sometimes copy entire pages in case something happens and my edits don't get saved. I probably pasted out of habit when I got a "could not save due to intervening edit" message.
Hey! I'm the founder of Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 Wiki, covering the new game by Insomniac. One thing we'd like to do is link to Marvel Database here on all pages, to link to the page for all appearances of the character, and the original appearance of the character. This is a (very rough) example of what I mean. Do we have your permission to use the Marvel Database logo for this template, and do I have the right idea for linking correctly? Also, do we have your permission to use said logo and link you as an affiliate on our home page Thanks!
You were undoing a bunch of ADour's edits. I simply rolled them back so his work cleaning up categories tonight wasn't wasted.
Feel free to discuss them with him if you disagree with his assessment about whether or not they belonged rather than edit war, but from what I could see they were often non-existent categories that you were making up as you go or categories that belong on articles, not other categories, etc.
"his work cleaning up categories tonight wasn't wasted."
He is not cleaning up categories. He is whole-sale deleting categories, without a discussion. Categories about teams and their affiliations to larger organizations, categories about characters being killed with sourced information within the article, categories about some characters origins stories (such as being resurrected by magic, being magic mutates, etc).
Several of the categories he left are no longer parented to anything else. They don't even turn up on searches.
I'm not looking to argue, I simply saw you were rapidly undoing a bunch of another Admin's edits, so I stepped in to hopefully nip a looming edit war in the bud. It's a peacekeeping tactic, otherwise they log in, see you undid the stuff they're trying to provide context and relevance to, and things may have escalated from there, but instead I took a moment to attempt to defuse the situation, so that hopefully y'all can figure it out and come to an agreement, rather than waste each other's time with a pointless back and forth.
Before I started deleting these categories, I brought up what I was planning to do to the rest of the staff back at the Discord server.
I made sure to delete categories that were not instrumental. Categories like "Black Cat's Gang," "Fascist Italy" and "Hood's Gang" were only featured in the main article for these organizations and the category for their members. Additionally, a handful of the categories you created had actually already been deleted years ago, like "Maggia" and "Wrecking Crew."
Based on a similar discussion with the staff, we're going to clean-up the immense assortment of "Killed by" categories. We determined it's unnecessary to create categories for both people killed by minor characters, and characters that have killed only one person.
